Back Street ex MUSRO Bali

I went to Back Street last weekend (HELLOWEEN) to see DJ RIRI (one of the best Indonesian DJ). I got there about 11 PM. Paid 50.000 and got a beer. I was a bit shock, the place was really quite. I was informed that DJ Riri will start at 1 PM and super sexy dancers before that. I though OK.. may be I was too early..

About Back Street
Before MUSRO is divided into 2 area. One hall area and karaoke area. The hall area is now managed by Back Street. The hall is big. The stage at the front, left right sofa and bar at behind. Blue color is their trademark I guess. I like the tables with the blue light inside them. Parking space is huge, you can also use the parking mall (Discovery Shopping Mall).
If you went to MUSRO Hall before, the interior is quite similar. Just some tweaking here and there so it look more simple and big. It’s a lot better I would say.
If you need more “friends”, they also have PR (Public Relation) for this services. Just ask the waiters for the PR.

I waited there until 12.30. The crowds weren’t here!! More people coming, but there wasn’t enough to make the event happening.
A lot of places this day had helloween party, and I don’t want to miss the night of helloween by sitting around waiting for people. So I decided to enjoy at other places.

Lumpia Spring Roll Semarang in Tiara Dewata Food Court

Do you like lumpia / spring roll? It’s really nice isn’t it.

One of nicest place I’ve known is in Tiara Dewata Food Court. It’s in stand no. 1 if I’m not wrong. I like the one which is not fried. It’s healtier!

D`COST Cheap but Quality Food Renon Bali

Their moto: Harga kaki lima, kualitas bintang lima. It slightly means you can get 5 star quality of food with the price of food in the street without store.

IT’S ABSOLUTELY TRUE! I hardly imagine how they can profit? with a very big place, fully aircon, advance IT system (waiter using PDA to make the order).. but you wouldn’t care do you?
The location is in Jalan Raya Puputan.

They sell mostly Indonesian and Chinese Food. Very often they have promotion such as Pay whatever you want, Eat for Free. Newspapers keep you update.

Warung Babi Guling Chandra Jl. Teuku Umar Denpasar Bali

Location: Jalan Teuku Umar near SIMPANG ENAM (the roundabout)
Look at the crowd!! I went on the Idul Fitri 1 oct with some friends from Jakarta. We have to wait about 15 minutes to get a table and wait another 45 minutes to get our food.
This place is really famous among domestic tourist who look for BABI GULING. One of most favourite balinese food. And YOU SHOULD COME HERE if you are in BALI or may be better if I would say YOU HAVE TO EAT BABI GULING when you are in BALI. You won’t find this food in the planet except BALI.
They only have 1 menu: bagi guling. It’s serve with lawar, sate, sambal in one place and soup in a bowl. They are all using babi (pork). YUMMY!!

Warung Mak Beng Sanur Bali – it’s HOT

Warung Mak Beng is the legends from the old days. The location is in Sanur Beach (Bali Beach Sanur). They sell FRESH FISH with their very “mak beng style” sambal with fish head soup or vegetable soup. You wont find this sambal anywhere else and IT’S HOT!!.. Nyum..

as you see in the picture above, the place is small (max 25 people) and well quite dirty *typical original balinese warung*

Blue Eyes Cafe at Genesis Hotel Spa Bali

Another one luxurious club is opened in Bali. I was lucky I got invited to the soft opening of Blue Eyes Cafe. For more information about their facilites you can visit their website @ http://www.blueeyescafe.com.


I arrived about 10 PM and cars were packed!! I had to walk down 15 minutes from my car to the venue.

The cafe / club have 2 different areas. One for hall (indoor) where you can watch some performance in the stage and other is karaoke room. The hall is big enough for 1000 people maybe (CMIIW). The sound system and laser are really good. The sound system in the karaoke room is also very good. Just their song selection system isn’t so nice.

Taliwang 99 Sunset Road Bali

It’s been a while (like 2 weeks) I didn’t pass Sunset Road. Last weekend I went to Cineplex 21 (cinema) and suprise there is a restaurant in the opposite of Cozy. It was a field from what I can remember. Building a restaurant in 2 weeks? hmm.. Maybe I didn’t notice when they built it..

I tried the Ikan Laut (krapu) bakar, Paket Ayam Bakar. They are OK, normal like anyothers. The good things they are cheap. The bad things it’s quite dirty. Now you have an alternative in kuta area for cheap bakar type of food.
